This week we celebrated with our graduating Year 12 class (2022) at the formal. It is good to celebrate the wonderful growth of our students, some of whom have been with the school since kindergarten. They are wonderful ambassadors for their families; their school; and for many of them Jesus. During the evening we reflected on a most significant aspect of their growth – their character development. A feature of this year group is their resilience. They have continued to work as a collaborative team over their final years and we wish them well as they leave; Our hope is that they will actively serve to enrich the community to the Glory of God. I reiterated to the graduating class that they would only find true satisfaction in this life through building their lives on the good news of Jesus; something that we have taught them whilst here at our school.
Today we commemorated Remembrance Day. Our School Captains represented the school in the laying of a wreath at the cenotaph in Town and our student body observed a minute of silence in the quadrangles at school. We reflected on the Ode before the Last Post and Reveille was played. It is significant for our students to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in our country and to enjoy the freedoms we have. The current war in Europe sits in stark contrast to our experience of life here.
As we mourn, commemorate, and celebrate success I encourage our staff, students and families to consider that God is sovereign over all things. That Jesus knows our joys and our sufferings and in Him we might find peace.
Praying for a rich week of learning.
