Starting Kindergarten or moving into Year 7 in 2027? Come along to one of our Information Evenings to
learn more, meet key staff, and get a feel for the school community.
We have a BYOD (bring your own device) model based on the
educational advantage that this technology provides for student
learning. Each student is required to bring in their own device
(dependent on their year level), which is supported by the ICT
environment and the familiarity of staff members. This ensures there
is a minimal interruption during class time and allows teaching
staff to engage more effectively with students.
BYOD MODEL
iPad Hardware
The minimum requirement for iPad models to be used by students
is contingent on the ability to run the latest software
(iPadOS 18). The following iPad models are suitable:
iPad Pro (M4)
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)
iPad Air (M2)
iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
iPad (7th generation and later)
iPad mini (A17 Pro)
iPad mini (5th generation and later)
All iPads should have the latest iPadOS (device software)
installed, which are available via the software update
process.
For those students completing ACER or NAPLAN testing,
headphones are required in addition to the device. It is
advised that a suitable iPad case or cover (no larger than 23
cm in total width, for classroom management) should be
purchased to protect the device.
Please note: iPad Mini, iPad Mini 2, 3, 4 or
5th Generation devices are not accepted by NAPLAN due to the
compatibility of the lockdown browser.
TIP: If your child is starting the year before they are
required to buy a laptop, consider transitioning to a Macbook
Air for a cost-benefit to your family for the following year.
Software Requirements
Please ensure all devices are up to date both for the
operating system and the applications. You can find the
software required by your school by referring to the parent
portal of your school.
MacBook Hardware
Apple MacBook Air or MacBook Pro
The following minimum specifications apply:
M2 Processor or higher
256GB Storage or higher
8GB RAM or higher
Whilst the M2 is currently the minimum specification required,
we do recommend a M3 device, which incurs a small price
increment, but will last significantly longer.
All MacBooks should have the latest Mac OS (device software)
installed (MacOS Tahoe) via the software update process.
For those students completing ACER or NAPLAN testing,
headphones are required in addition to the device. It is
advised that a suitable case or cover should also be purchased
to protect the device. If purchasing a MacBook Air 2020 or
onwards with USB-C, it is recommended a USB-C to USB adapter
be purchased to ensure compatibility with USB device usage, if
required.
Software
Please ensure all devices are up to date both for the
operating system and the applications. You can find the
software required by your school by referring to the parent
portal of your school.
